    I am sorry for the injury to your dog. With all sincerity I can understand how the makers of Nylabone would not capitulate and open themselves up to a class action suit. Let me explain: Your lack of evidence did not help your case. You are assuming it was a nylabone which you yourself claimed worked fine for 3.5 years that caused the damage. Did you absolutely rule out a foreign body like a furniture leg? Is your dog osteoporotic? I’m not trying to build a case against you nor am I trying to make a case for Nylabone. I do think that your case is anecdotal and correlative. Strange things happen to pets when we’re not looking. I spent $1800 on oral surgery having my GSD’s rear molars removed. She was having trouble chewing. The vet was a close friend of mine who noticed an unusual swelling of her ear canal. I begged him to I & D it then culture the exudate. Buffy came home as happy as could be. The next day she was walking into walls. It was a brain tumor invading her TMJ. Sometimes you just never know. I’m sorry.

    This was a great video and really helped me relax a bit. My 12 year old dog has to get some teeth pulled and I’ve been stressing out so bad. Idk why I’m so anxious because he’s actually super healthy other than his teeth, he still acts like a pup! I just don’t want him to be scared or in pain since I obviously can’t go in with him :(

    Thanks so much for this information. It's very helpful to me regarding my own dog. I'm trying to research info regarding feline rabies vaccines - 1yr vs 3yrs .... and I'm struggling to find much. I am in the U.S. If anyone can guide me to a good resource for such info, it would be appreciated. I am making an assumption the information in this video is specifically for dogs as it states. Thanks in advance for any input shared! 😊

    Aussies (spayed & neutered) actually blow coat in spring & fall. They shed less in the summer & winter months but do require daily brushing, if you can't handle any shedding at all. They need their coat blown (shedded out) twice a year.

We just got robbed by credit card fraud and we could do nothing but watch our money disappear on line and the bank could do nothing about it for 2 weeks. Its so raw and ugly to deal with such bad people. Glad you are in Norway it looks beautiful. Tim is a great dog. I use ginger and alfalfa tea with raw honey all winter. All this shall pass as my grandad would say. Nice little wooden homes. All nice and clean. Praying for you and yours.

    Is there an effective de-wormer for horses that can be given so that our Aussies don't run the risk of ingesting it from the manure? We got an Aussie puppy a month ago, but our in-laws have a horse next door who they let wander and she comes onto our property. We got so nervous that we returned our Aussie, but we want to bring her back if there is some way to switch the neighbor horse from ivermectin to something else! I must add that our puppy was MDR-1 positive.

    I’ve been watching a few of these videos cause I have a mini Australian Shephard. I think her video is the best so far I’ve seen in the past year I’ve been looking at. I think she did a fantastic job and I think her voice is just fine and people that are leaving any negative comments they just don’t know what it is to own and Aussie. Just hope that they never get one. The poor Aussie won’t be taken care of right. I love you and I love your video. Keep going. Ignore all the negative comments you did a fantastic job. I watch this over and over again. Good luck to you dear. I have a mini tri. And I learned a lot from this video. I can’t believe you’re trying to help people and they have to leave. Sucnegative comments I think that’s terrible like to just wipe them right off the slate. And I don’t know who you are but I commend you I love your work. I cannot afford to go to a groomer I’m 74 years old live by myself on a fixed budget. Good 5:20 thank you because this video is going to help my dog. I often wondered why she would sometimes bite between her paw. Now I know how to take care of that. ❤ 4

    I have 4 Australian shepherds. They are extremely intelligent. My mini aussie Marley knows the English language and that's the truth. Full sentences Of all 4 dogs I've had him since he was 2months old. I talked to him all the time and still do. He's 8 years old now. Everyone says he's a human in a dogs body lolo. It took me a couple times to train him on the 7 basic commands and more. He dances when I say dance, rolls over, crawls, leave it, no barking, be nice and much more. he also knows hand signals so if he can't hear me and can only see me he can still follow commands. If I say Marley go get your blanket he will go get it. Or Marley let's go this way and I point he knows and does what I say. He's such a good boy. He never chewed up anything he wasn't supposed to, dug etc..I have had different breeds of dogs my whole life and Australian shepherds are definitely the smartest, sweetest and most easy to train.

    One place online said ivermectin is safe with mdr1 dogs. The next site said do not give Aussies or collies ivermectin? Why the discrepancy? What is a reliable safe Web site to give us this accurate info,?

    • @animalscholar
      @animalscholar 4 месяца назад

      My understanding is that it is not the drug - but the dose that is important. High doses of ivermectin in mdr1 dogs is not safe, but for something like heartworm prevention where the dose is minimal, ivermectin should be ok in most cases.

    My boyfriend and I are both getting an aussie puppy each at the end of the month... I started watching your videos because I'm eager to learn more and then I found this one. I am choking back tears for you and I am so incredibly sorry to hear how aspen passed. I just watched you and aspen and it is so clear the love you two had between each other. You gave her such a beautiful life and she was blessed to have you as a life partner. I still have my childhood dog since I was 13 and i'm now 23, She has seen me through every growing pain I've had and milestone I've ever had, shes been through 3 apartments, tons of boyfriends, many of my friendships, and so much more. I am buying my first house as well by the end of the month and I feel so grateful that she will be there to experience her own backyard for the first time. I'm crying and dreading the day I ever have to say goodbye to her because she really feels like a daughter to me. Every day I wake up and she is still with me is the best day. and It really is terrible how short their life spans are compared to us. The love we have for these animals is not weird, they are truly the most amazing relationships we ever get to experience. again I am beyond hurt for you and sorry for your loss, I hope you're doing better now and I give you props for being such an amazing owner.

    I had a little mostly yorkie for 23 years. She died of old age two years ago and I still miss her something awful. I swore I would never get another dog but recently I was contacted about an Australian Aussie who needs a new home. She is six years old and I'm going to get her the day after tomorrow. She is almost the same colour as Aspen. How could a loss like that not break your heart but you wouldn't give up the good times to save yourself the pain.

    Just had my 16 year old dog go in for a spay since she had pyometra. I went to the UC first with her where she was diagnosed. I wanted to try antibiotics first since she had an open cervix they helped with inflammation (she wasn’t helping when touched anymore) and I also noticed she wasn’t as prone to peeing in her diapers anymore all great signs. I booked a spay Tuesday. (UC Monday a week prior and now today is Tue) I’m SO glad I did becasue her open cervix turned into a closed one. She’s sleeping next to me now in bed since the vet said it would be ok (she’s old and so much change so fast could stress her out far more than the benefit of having her sleep in her kennel would provide. I’m a gentle sleeper and already wedge myself between pillows so she’s fine on her mattres and in a towel) I feel SO happy I did things in the order I did as I think it gave her a MUCH better chance during surgery. She did AMAZING under anesthesia and didn’t do anything funny. I even got her to gain 10 oz before the surgery making her go up to 3.88 lbs I want her to be closer to 4.5 lbs though since she’s still pretty underweight. Feeding is now 3-4x a day. She gets turkey, lentils, garbanzos, carrots, sometimes beef is added. Plus senior ukenuba if she’s up for it. Lately her 2 additional meals are penne pasta to help keep her stomach settled and fill her up. It clearly worked if she gained 10 oz in nine days.

    Not sure if you'll read this. I lost my beloved girl (almost 17 year old chihuahua) this past October (writing this in mid January). Totally destroyed me. I still have her day bed in my living room...her cleaned out food and water bowls still set up in the kitchen, etc. Yeah, having a bit of trouble saying good bye. Anyway, I told myself I would not get my next dog for multiple years, at least. But, who am I kidding, right? So, after a lot of research and knowing I do want an energetic sidekick to do hiking, kayaking, mountain biking and much more, I narrowed it down to an australian shepherd. All this research is how the RUclips algorithm introduced me to your channel, by the way. And yes, your Aspen goodbye video hit home with me, as you can imagine. Anyway, I look forward to watch your new adventures. I'm excited for you!
